TRIFLES

director

Susan Glaspell wrote this one act play in 1916 with advanced commentary on gender, womanhood, isolation, and depression. Trifles follows the investigation of a woman who may or may not have killed her husband.

I first read this play in a Dramatic Literature class and immediately was drawn to the text. My greatest challenge was creating the ambiance of a house where a murder was committed.
